Engine #5

The 2-4-2 "Columbia" steam engine.

The War Vet Museum model railroad display has well over 200 train cars and engines that were donated by veterans who enjoyed the hobby of model railroading.

Looking along the main line of the American Railroads during World War II shows life in small-town America during the early 1940s.

The American Railroads of World War II exhibit features O and S gauge model trains operating on three main lines. Engines date to pre-war and include American Flyer and Lionel as well as modern Mike's Train House (MTH) engine pulling a long freight of tanks and supplies.

The "engine yard" display shows a typical yard during World War II as railroads kept their engines running to move equipment and supplies to Europe and the Pacific theaters.

Work is underway on a Civil War, HorseShoe Curve (Penn.) layout in HO gauge. The main lines are currently under construction and the first train should be running by Spring of 2007.
