Founded in 1988, The War Vet museum collects and displays over 36,000 artifacts from all periods of U.S. history, spread over 4 floors. Everything in the museum can be handled, read, and touched. The entire basement houses huge model train setups in 2 different gauges; placed around these setups are hundreds of artifacts from American railroads. In addition, the 1st floor is the headquarters of Post #177 of the American Legion, with museum owner/operator Lew Speece as its commander.
